Collaborative Program Details

For over 20 years, the Collaborative Program has connected LEADERSHIP Philadelphia alumni and Fellows with regional nonprofit organizations in need of engaged professionals, ready to lead and serve as board members.

The Collaborative supports both nonprofits and alumni by facilitating meaningful introductions, volunteer engagement, and visibility opportunities that support nonprofit missions and create a stronger region.

 

For Alumni: Serve on a Board

LEADERSHIP Philadelphia alumni interested in joining a nonprofit board are invited to receive curated introductions based on your availability, experience, and areas of interest.

For Nonprofits: Join the Collaborative

If your nonprofit is seeking board members who are skilled, diverse, and energized to serve, we may be able to help. LEADERSHIP Philadelphia alumni actively seek board opportunities through us, and our newest cohort—the 2026 Core Class—will be training in board service.

Annual Membership Fee:
Participation in the Collaborative requires a $250 annual fee, which offers a year of benefits.

Membership Includes:

  1. Board Recruitment Support
    • Curated Introductions
      We’ll introduce your organization to alumni and Fellows aligned with your mission and board needs—and vice versa.
    • Core Program Presentation
      Member organizations can present their mission to the full Core Class with time for interaction and questions. Space is limited.
    • Board Observations
      Offer one-time observation opportunities to candidates interested in learning more about your board before joining.
  1. In-Kind Support Opportunities
    • Pay It Forward Project
      Collaborative members are invited to submit a short-term volunteer project proposal. Each selected project will be carried out by a group of 10 Core Fellows between January and May.
  1. Networking & Visibility
    • LEADERSHIP Events
      Receive invitations to select events addressing key regional issues—opportunities to network with alumni, civic leaders, and other Collaborative nonprofits.
    • Newsletter Recognition
      When a candidate joins your board, let us know. We’ll celebrate your work in our monthly newsletter—seen by thousands of alumni, sponsors, and community partners.

2025 – 2026 Timeline

  • September 10 – October 31: Pay It Forward Project proposals accepted
  • November – June: Nonprofit Core Class presentations
  • February–June: Board Observations and curated introductions take place
